Audio and Video Comments

One thing I like about the WordPress platform is that it is easy to use various types of media. I already have video and audio on the Totally Incorrect site and I plan on using more of each.

Thanks to the nice guys at riffly.com, I can now include a new level of interactivity. Riffly allows me to include the ability for you to leave audio or webcam comments on the stories – you are not just limited to text any longer.

I think this is a really cool idea and I’ve already left some audio comments on some other blogs.

Do you have a blog of your own? If you do you might want to consider using this service as well. The basic service is free and more advanced plans can be purchased for a monthly subscription.

What do you think? Is this level of interactivity something you would use?

WordPress is now not just for writing. I think I’m not ready yet to use audio in my blog. I’m afraid if it will slow down my blog. =)

Hey, thanks for commenting. I know what you mean, there’s always a chance that new features can slow down both the load speed and the interaction on your blog.

It is really interesting though how fast WordPress is developing. I remember making my first blog with that little default theme and thinking it was so cool :-)

If you are wondering where the audio and video comments option has gone here’s the deal.

The Riffly plugin didn’t seem to format quite corrdtly in my blog template so I contacted the tech support people.

After a week of silence, I decided that having a feature on the site that didn’t work properly wasn’t a good idea so I’ve deactivated it. If I ever hear back from the Riffly.com people, I’ll put it back, but for the moment we are stuck with plain old typing!
